Founded in Marrakech at the close of 2020, Asalavibes has roots that stretch back to the creation of the first Berber rugs in the 7th century. Our brand intertwines the romance of history, traditional craftsmanship, and a dedication to creating a fair future for the women who weave Moroccan rugs. AsalaVibes was born to bring Morocco’s rich tapestry to the world.

Our highly-skilled weavers, with over four decades of experience, embody the ancient wisdom passed down through generations of powerful women.
A Love Story For Morocco
Asalavibes is a love letter to Morocco, penned by our founders, El Mahdi and Kaoutar, who are deeply passionate about the country’s beauty and traditions. Each of our custom-made rugs tells a unique story of our history, heritage, and landscape, from snow-capped mountains and untouched deserts to pristine beaches and ephemeral wetlands.
The Birth Of AsalaVibes
Kaoutar was in the hospitality industry when the pandemic hit, halting the flow of thousands of travelers who brought economic vitality to Morocco by purchasing handmade goods. With weavers unable to sell their textiles, Kaoutar lost her job and saw an opportunity to empower hundreds of women, restore their financial independence, and preserve their craft. Together with her husband El Mahdi, she founded Asalavibes, which quickly became Morocco’s largest rug exporter within a year.
